Leadership Attributes

by Daniel Chun

Leadership plays a crucial role in guiding regions and city-regions to break free from historical constraints and embrace change. The ability of leaders to influence and mobilize people is essential in creating new institutions, attracting human capital, and shaping a fresh perception of the region’s present and future. The most challenging aspect often lies not in determining what needs to be done, but in figuring out how to do it. This is where leadership attributes such as motivation, trust, vision, determination, and influence come into play. Effective leaders with these traits can unite fragmented resources, mobilize individuals, and inspire the development of a new vision for the region and its prospects.

The influence of leadership attributes and traits is evident in the ability of leaders to unite fragmented resources, mobilize individuals, and inspire the development of a new vision for the region and its prospects. These traits, such as motivation, trust, vision, determination, and influence, are essential in guiding regions and city-regions to break free from historical constraints and embrace change.

The list shown above is taken from my PhD Thesis and there are more literature on this one topic of leadership traits or leadership attributes – sometimes refer as capabilities as well.
